On our most recent trip to Colombia we had the opportunity to explore outside of Armenia, Jessie’s home town, to the remote island of San Andres and to the very alive city of Cartagena, or Cartagena de Indias. In this post we’ll look at our adventure through Cartagena, a city located in northern Colombia on the Caribbean Coast Region.
Positano, Italy is an absolute treasure and an incredible destination for us travelers! Arriving by ferry to the precious village tucked delicately into the Amalfi Coast immediately drops the jaw and opens the mind to the limitless possibility of creation. Please join us in reminiscing on our trip to this remarkable place!
As true lovers of the holidays, Jessie and I were so impressed with how well New York City gets in the spirit! I’m talking massive Christmas trees in almost every lobby, magical theatrical light and music shows, and glowing decorations at every corner! Truly a visual feast! With only three days to explore the city’s festive side, we managed to get our fill of sightseeing as well as participate in some holiday fun!
Mont-Saint-Michel is one of the picturesque destinations you see on Instagram and think, “Wow! I’ve never seen anything like that before!” It looks like Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the Harry Potter series and carries a historical aura that projects its visitors into France’s elaborate past.
Our celebratory vacation in Cancun was one of the most memorable experiences we’ve shared filled with romance and joy! Warm crystal clear water and fluffy white sand is what you can expect at this beautiful destination…and if you visit in the months of July to October you might get lucky to witness a sea turtle hatching and release! Also, as you venture inland a very unique place to visit is Chichen Itza, one of the Maya cities located only two and a half hours from Cancun.
Yosemite National Park was our first destination in October 2015 and still holds a lot of sentimental value for us… We go back as often as we can. This photo was taken at the top of Vernal Fall. I recall my hesitation as Jessie insisted we climb the slippery stone steps that were tucked tightly along the side of the waterfall. For someone who’s not too keen on heights, it was a big deal but I knew we had to do it and I’m glad we did. Hiking the trails through the vast forests, breathing the fresh mountain air, and embracing the freedom of the wild is what draws Yosemite so close to our hearts. We highly recommend any travelers who are considering visiting California to include Yosemite National Park in your itinerary.
This is where our story began in 2015. Living by the beach never gets old, but as our lives have become busier since we first met we find less time devoted to these gorgeous ocean sunsets. As we aspire to #LookUP from our phones and devices, we realize our awe of life is greater than any virtual reality.
My name is Naren and I live in Los Angeles, California with my wife, Jessica who is originally from Colombia. Before we met I had little experience traveling and was living in somewhat of an American bubble. She had already travelled quite a bit throughout the United States and Colombia, and almost immediately after we got together we started exploring places outside of LA. Our first trip was to Yosemite National Park, and since then we have traveled to seven countries and counting. The idea for Look Up Travels came from a personal desire to lessen our technology dependency and to focus our attention on capturing and sharing the beauty of life with others. We thank each of you for joining us and we look forward to this journey.
